Local Nature Recovery All-Party Parliamentary Group chair Pippa Heylings MP with Local Nature Partnership chairs and managers.
Earlier in 2025, a Local Nature Recovery All-Party Parliamentary Group was established to bring Local Nature Partnerships together with parliamentarians to strengthen the voice of partnerships for local nature recovery.
On 3 December 2025 the All-Party Parliamentary Group meeting was expanded to include representatives from all Local Nature Partnerships in different English counties - as Local Nature Partnership Manager I was there to represent Gloucestershire.
Gloucestershire Nature and Climate Fund's CEO Rachel Lenane featured in the Local Nature Partnership video shown in the House of Commons:
It was great to meet MPs and researchers from South Cotswolds, Stroud and Tewkesbury constituencies. Roz Savage MP discussed the recent National Emergency Briefing, her Stronger South Cotswolds Initiative and funding running out for the farm facilitation fund.

With Simon Opher and our neighbours West of England Nature Partnership, I discussed Green Social Prescribing and Access to Nature, priorities for him and for Gloucestershire Local Nature Partnership.

The All-Party Parliamentary group focuses on delivery of key policies such as Local Nature Recovery Strategies, highlighting the importance of nature for placemaking, public health, the economy and the climate. Its briefing papers so far can be found here: https://www.olnp.org.uk/all-party-parliamentary-group-for-local-nature-recovery.
You can see more of the event in the House of Commons in this video of the day:
It was really great to "compare notes" and gain inspiration from Local Nature Partnerships in other counties in England.
Many thanks indeed to Matt Whitney of Oxfordshire Local Nature Partnership and Matthew Stanton of BBOWT for all the hard work they put in to organise this event.
