Ever Suffered a Cardiac Event? Help us shape a new social prescribing rehabilitation initiative

Updated: Sep 9, 2019

The Gloucestershire Local Nature Partnership, working closely with project leads Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, along with support from our Naturally Healthy Working Group, have developed a new social prescribing offer in conjunction with the Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group – part of the NHS.

Cardiac rehabilitation

This programme is specifically focused on those patients who have experienced a cardiac event and are encouraged to undergo some kind of rehabilitation programme to support them in their recovery. Our offer is focused on getting participants outside and active in nature as a way to begin their rehabilitation to a healthy, active life and as an alternative option for those who might prefer being outside and active to classroom-based activities.

Although delivery started on the 23rd July, we are continuing our co-creation throughout the project, part of which is an online survey, whilst also working closely with each participant to better explore the potential barriers to participation, what they find appealing and what are the most popular interests when it comes to being outdoors.

You can help by completing our survey

If you have suffered a cardiac event in the past, we would love to hear from you. Equally, if you know someone that has, we would welcome you sharing this information with them to help us shape future rehabilitation options.

Even if you have not had a cardiac event but are interested in nature, wildlife and being outdoors, your answers can still help us to shape what we do and ensure the success of the project.

We would be very grateful to anyone who shares this post or the survey directly with anyone you may feel it relevant.
